Peer Review of AIDS/HIV Accounts Approaches & Studies |
|
Project ID: HA-001 |
Status: Completed |
With the various international goals set for expanding access to HIV/AIDS treatment and combating the HIV/AIDS epidemic, the level of resource flows for HIV/AIDS is of increasing importance. Various agencies have sponsored different approaches to measuring these expenditure flows, including HIV/AIDS accounts. Owing to the need to assess several different methodologies developed for HIV/AIDS accounts, UNAIDS through its partner INSP of Mexico commissioned Dr Rannan-Eliya, IHP Fellow, to act as peer reviewer for the available HIV/AIDS account studies and methods, and provide recommendations for future action and standardisation. The studies reviewed were from Latin America, Ghana, Rwanda and Thailand. The findings and recommendations were presented and discussed at a meeting of the UNAIDS Global Consortium on Resource Tracking meeting held in Cuernavaca, Mexico, 16 February 2005. |
