Sri Lanka Health Expenditure Projection Model 2001-2101 |
|
Project ID: AG-003 |
Status: Completed |
With funding support primarily from the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN/DESA), this study developed an actuarial health cost projection model for Sri Lanka, covering the period 2001-2101. This drew on previous work done by Dr Rannan-Eliya with NIA funding to develop a similar model for Ministry of Health and WHO, and used the most recent population projections and health expenditure and use estimates available for Sri Lanka in 2006. Unlike the earlier work, this new projection model also attempts to project expenditures by disease. Results of this study were used by the United Nations in its World Economic and Social Survey 2007, and also in the World Bank Sri Lanka Aging Study. |
