HIV/AIDS is a substantial challenge facing health systems globally. Fortunately, Sri Lanka escaped experiencing a major epidemic, although rates of HIV infection continue to grow. Health policy and economics research is needed to better understand the social and economic impacts of the epidemic and thus frame appropriate responses, and methodological research is needed to develop the methods required to research the many difficult areas that the epidemic raises.
Current research programme
Our research is currently focusing on developing better methods for tracking resource flows for HIV/AIDS for general global use, and supporting countries (Bangladesh, Ukraine) to measure expenditures for HIV/AIDS.
Our current research includes:
