At present, she is involved in health policy analysis with a focus on costs, public health impact and equity. She is a co-investigator in the Sri Lanka Health and Ageing Study, and utilises its data to study the epidemiology of non-communicable disease (NCD) and NCD policies. She has also been involved in projects studying the quality of care in public and private sectors in Sri Lanka and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
